The Summit County Engineer Self-Managed Web Site
eyemg.Control'd.
The Summit County Engineer's office required the ability to post timely information about the roadway infrastructure of Ohio's Summit County. It just so happened that Steve and developer Joe Erickson had just created eyemg.Control for Akron-area web shop eyemg Interactive Media Group. The Summit County Engineer's office was intrigued by Control's content management capabilities, flexibility, e-mail subscription features, and relative low cost.
Unique eyemg.Control Implementation
eyemg.Control's power lies in its flexibility. The Summit County Engineer's site relies heavily on that flexibility to offer unique features to the organization and its visitors.
The home page features an "embedded search" to display the News. Every time a user visits the page, a search looks through the entire database to find the most recent news articles and display them on the front page.
The menu navigation for the site is also generated dynamically. Every time a new page or section of the site is created or modified, eyemg.Control re-creates the drop down menus to facilitate web site navigation.
The Employee Directory also relies on Control's search technologies to generate the directory.
New content types, such as Job Listings, were created for this site. The Employment Opportunities portion of the site not only displays open job opportunities, but allows employment seekers to submit resumes and cover letters which are then distributed to the appropriate internal contact.
The Links page uses a number of embedded searches to collect the different links posted throughout the entire site and list them on one single page.
